Welcome to "A Day in Jack's World!" I'm your host, Westley, and today I'm talking to one of our Restaurant Managers here in Houston, Texas. Bob, come on out here!
 Howdy, Bob! Reckon you like livin' down here in the Lone Star State?
BOB: Houston's great. It's an international city. People have these conceptions of Texas, but it's not all wild west.
But you're a cowboy, right?
BOB: Uh. No.
Ever ridden a bull?
BOB: Nope. Rode a horse a few times...couldn't sit down for days.
You should try riding an antenna! Yippi-Ki-Yi-Yay! I'm not kidding!
BOB: I'm sure you're not.
So, Bob, tell me about being a Restaurant Manager for Jack.
BOB: Well, I get to work with great people, eat great food, and work for a great company in a great city. What more could I ask for?
Just an All-Around Great Job, huh Bob? C'mon. There's gotta be something that isn't "great" in your life.
BOB: Well, I guess you could say my swing could use some work.
Swing? Oh...line-dancing!
BOB: No... baseball.
Right... So, take me through a typical workday.
BOB: Well, when I get to the restaurant, I do an inspection and make sure everything's running properly and in good order. Then I check the delivery schedule and make sure we've got what we need for the day. We usually have our rushes around 8:30am, noon, and again around 5:30. When it's busy, I help the team with preparation and serving. When there's downtime, I may train a new employee, or check in with our regional manager or marketing reps regarding promotions and giveaways. I keep pretty busy.
So, you have a favorite menu item?
BOB: Absolutely! The Sourdough Jack.
That's a goodie. You must stay fit by doing all those Ro-Dee-Os.
BOB: Westley. I told you. Not all Texans are cowboys.
Really?
BOB: Really.
Well. Thanks Bob. You're sure doing a great job down here. Not a cowboy, huh? Know where I can get myself a cowboy hat? Size XXS?
