October 2011 - Chairman, CEO & President Linda Lang receives “Person of the Year” award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County for her contributions to the local youth-mentoring organization.

March 2011 - Franchise Business Review, a market research company, identified Jack in the Box in its “Top Franchise Guide for 2011” as one of the best franchising opportunities in the foodservice industry.

January 2011 - For the second consecutive year, Jack in the Box® has the top-ranked franchise system among hamburger chains (and 7th overall in 2011) according to an annual survey of the best franchise systems conducted by AllBusiness.com, the world's largest online resource for small businesses. The ranking, which reflected the evaluation of more than 800 franchise systems, was based on such criteria as franchise unit growth rate, financial strength, system size, years in business, years franchising, availability of financing, and Web (brand) visibility.

November 2010 - Jack in the Box Inc. named one of California’s top companies for gender diversity, according to a study by the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management. Jack in the Box Inc. ranked fifth among the state’s largest companies, with women occupying 33% of the board seats and executive positions. Jack in the Box was similarly recognized in the annual survey in 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005.

November 2010 - Jack in the Box® restaurants named one of the “50 Top Franchises for Minorities” for the second consecutive year by the National Minority Franchising Initiative based on system size, the number of operating units owned by minorities (both absolute and as a percentage of the total number), and the number of minorities in senior management earning more than $60,000 per year.

July 2010 - QSR Magazine bestowed an Applied Technology Award upon Jack in the Box in recognition of its restaurant marketing toolkit, which provides franchise operators online access to local marketing and promotional materials. The Applied Technology Awards biennually recognizes the best innovations that improve and enhance the restaurant experience for operators, employees and consumers.

November 2009 - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Linda Lang inducted into Junior Achievement’s San Diego Business Hall of Fame for her career achievements and contributions to the community.

November 2009 - Jack in the Box Inc. honored as “Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation” by the Association of Fundraising Professionals San Diego Chapter at its 37th annual National Philanthropy Day celebration. The company was recognized for its ongoing support of and outstanding contributions to the San Diego community.

November 2007 - San Diego Human Resource Management Association honors Jack in the Box Inc. with a Workplace Excellence Award.

October 2007 - Jack in the Box Inc. receives a Technology Innovation Award from Nation's Restaurant News and an Industry Leadership Award from Computer Sciences Corporation.

August 2007 - Chairman and CEO Linda Lang receives a Golden Chain Award from Nation's Restaurant News for her recent achievements and career accomplishments.

June 2006 - Jack in the Box Inc. received a 2006 Apex Award from UnitedHealth Group for exceptional healthcare benefit strategies and leadership in extending health benefits to part-time restaurant employees.

June 2006 - Jack in the Box Inc. was commended by the San Diego Food Bank for its contribution to the National Hunger Awareness Day Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon.

April 2006 - The Jack in the Box Foundation received a Corporation of the Year award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County for its continued contributions to the local youth-mentoring organization.

April 2006 - The Jack in the Box Foundation received a President's Leadership Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas in recognition of ongoing efforts to serve at-risk children in Texas.

February 2006 - Jack in the Box Inc. was recognized by the Insure the Uninsured Project for demonstrating leadership in the fast-food industry by extending preventive and outpatient health care coverage to full- and part-time hourly restaurant employees.

September 2005 - Nation's Restaurant News and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation honored Jack in the Box Inc. with the first-ever Spirit Award. The honor recognized the company's innovative workforce programs that foster employee satisfaction and assist in recruitment, hiring, training, retention and education.

April 2005 - Jack in the Box Inc. was commended by the city of Los Angeles for its support of youth mentoring. Jack in the Box was nominated for the award by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.

June 2004 - The International Association for Food Protection presented Jack in the Box Inc. the prestigious Black Pearl Award, given annually to a company that advances food safety and quality through consumer programs, employee relations, educational activities, adherence to standards, and support of the goals of IAFP.

May 2004 - NSF International (formerly the National Sanitation Foundation) named Jack in the Box Inc. one of four winners of its first Food Safety Leadership Awards, recognizing groundbreaking achievements that help protect the public from foodborne illness.

October 2000 - The Food and Drug branch of the California Department of Health Services recognized Jack in the Box Inc. for helping the state adopt the uniform food-safety standards put forth by the Food and Drug Administration. The “Outstanding Leadership in Food Safety” award also honored Jack in the Box for helping the state draft a 1997 law requiring all restaurants to cook meat and eggs at specified temperatures to ensure safety.
